All applicants to RIT’s graduate programs must hold-or currently be completing-a four year baccalaureate degree, or the U.S. equivalent, granted by an accredited college or university. In general, we look for an overall GPA of 3.0 (B) or better for the applicant’s undergraduate transcript.
Admission to RIT is competitive, but our admission process is a personal one. Each application is reviewed holistically for strength of academic preparation, performance on standardized tests, counselor recommendations, and your personal career interests. We seek applicants from a variety of geographical, social, cultural, economic, and ethnic backgrounds.
Our students are excited about their education, engaged in campus life, and driven to develop their professional potential. Some of our graduate programs require undergraduate preparation in specific fields – check our web site for details on your program of interest. Many programs accept applications from individuals with a wide variety of undergraduate degrees and disciplines. Almost all of our programs DO NOT require work experience.
