What We Offer

Summary

The program prepares students for both the professoriate and for scholarly research, including research-informed translation, and it offers individualized interdisciplinary tracks to accommodate a variety of backgrounds. TRIP is a highly interdisciplinary program, offering opportunities for study on topics ranging from critical theory to comparative literature to pedagogy, among others. This broad sense of scholarship provides students with the opportunity to customize their own degree emphases.

Who We're Looking For

Summary

Depending on their interests, students choose electives from a variety of courses from disciplines such as history, political science, sociology, linguistics, or theater, so that they can be better prepared to develop their research.

Applicants must submit a writing sample as well as scores for the verbal, quantitative and analytical Graduate Record Examination aptitude test.
◾The writing sample may be a thesis or a paper from an upper-division undergraduate or graduate course
◾Applicants should possess an MA degree in a related area of study.
◾Note: Applicants lacking previous graduate coursework in languages should be prepared for a diagnostic examination during the application process.
