Summary

The Master of Science degree in Speech-Language Pathology combines academic course work and practical experience to prepare students to evaluate, treat, and conduct research with persons with communication and swallowing disorders in any professional setting.

The Master of Science education program in speech-language pathology at The University of Tulsa is accredited by the Council on Academic Accreditation in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology of the American Speech-Language Hearing Association, 2200 Research Boulevard #310, Rockville, Maryland 20850, 800-498-2071 or 301-296-5700.

The program in speech-language pathology takes two years of full time study and the curriculum covers the knowledge and skills outlined by the American Speech-Language Hearing Association (ASHA) required for certification as a speech-language pathologist, licensure from the Oklahoma Board of Examiners in Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology, and certification for working in the public schools. Additionally, successful graduates are prepared to apply for doctoral study in speech-language pathology and to assume leadership positions in professional organizations.
