Summary

The Biology of Aging discipline of the Integrated Biomedical Sciences (IBMS) program focuses on the molecular, cellular, and physiological mechanisms of aging, thereby preparing students to thrive at a unique interface of bioscience and medicine. More than 160 faculty members at the Barshop Institute for Longevity and Aging Studies are involved in research associated with aging, such as Alzheimer’s Disease, Parkinson’s Disease, cancer, diabetes, & cardiovascular disease.

- Completion of a Bachelor's or Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in the United States or an equivalent degree from another institution
- Completion of two years of undergraduate biology, one year each of inorganic chemistry, organic chemistry, physics, and at least one semester of calculus
