Strengthen Your Medical/Dental/Pharmacy School Application

The Master of Science program in Medical Science is designed to enhance your credentials for applying to medical school, dental school, or other health professional programs by offering a rigorous biomedical science curriculum in the environment of a health science center. Approximately 90% of UNTHSC GSBS Medical Science graduates who apply to a professional program are admitted. There are more than 1800 Medical Science graduates currently in the workforce.

The average time to complete the program is 12 months. Unlike most other post-baccalaureate premedical programs, you’ll earn a master’s degree instead of a post-baccalaureate certificate. You will take graduate-level courses in biochemistry, cell biology, immunology, physiology, structural anatomy, pharmacology, histology, clinical research, health disparities, and biostatistics. Entrance exam preparation (MCAT or DAT), clinical practice preceptorships, application workshops, and mock interviewing are also incorporated into the program.
